About Me

Basic Bio Stuff

Hi, I’m Harris James Sinclair. Born in 2001, I grew up in Northwest Washington State.
I graduated High School in June 2019, and began studying for a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science and Game Design at DigiPen Institute of Technology that Fall.

Currently I am an independent creator building games and tools.

Software Philosophy

I believe in writing software with an approach of “Keep it Simple.” That doesn’t mean avoiding solving hard problems, but rather taking a plain and straightforward approach to authoring the solution. The goal of this philosophy is that all of the other virtues of good software flow from it. This means ensuring that the code your writing takes clear, logical steps in it’s procedure. That the names for things in that code make sense, and are sufficiently verbose for the task. Reading the code should be as simple as following a recipe to bake a cake.

Current Projects:

> GDrafts: A puzzle game about a programmable little robot, written in Godot. This is currently on hold while I’m finishing my degree, but I plan to come back to it soon. The name, like the rest of it, is a work in progress.
> Dark Focus: A first person horror experience in Unreal Engine 5. I work on this with some other cool folks, and this is about all I can say about it. Hopefully I can write some more about this Soon™.
> Action Lists for Godot: A plugin for the Godot Game Engine which implements an Action List System. This is a smaller project, something I want to get going soon. But it’s an actively spinning plate so I’m listing it here.

Lego Games:

When I was very young, I had a copy of Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga. To say that I played a lot of that game would be akin to saying that Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz found herself simply “not in Kansas anymore”; whilst technically true, it is a significant understatement. As I got older, I played other games and enjoyed other things. But I maintain an enjoyment for these titles, and have played and completed a significant number of them.
